THE BEAUTIFUL PORT OF CAIRNS

You are about to enter Cairns, Australias' gateway to the tropical north of' Australia and the incredible World Heritage listed Great Barrier Reef and Wet Tropics Rainforest - two of the world's great natural treasures.

For visiting small yachts the Cairns Cruising Yacht Squadron is the perfect place to carry out maintenance and repairs. It has a 40 ton travel lift, and hard stand area, there is an on-site chandlery (as well as many more in the area) everything you need, shipwrights, sail makers, painters, and engineers. The club also has a deep water marina and pile mooring facilities, a modern clubhouse with bar, restaurant and function facilities

YACHT CLUBS IN CAIRNS
Cairns Cruising Yacht Squadron

Established for cruising yachts, the squadron boasts the best facilities in Cairns for visitors to the area. It has an extensive work-yard where all repairs and painting can be carried out, plus a chandlery for any items you may need. For members or visiting yachts, toilets, showers, ironing facilities etc are available.

The Cairns Cruising Yacht Squadron also offers a small marina and pile moorings in a protected arm of the Cairns Inlet. You can visit the CCYS web site at http://www.ccys.com.au/

Cairns Yacht Club

The Cairns Yacht Club is located close to the center of Cairns city It has a small beach that is ideal to launch a dinghy from, and an extensive bar and restaurant in the clubhouse. This club has no mooring facilities, however it's proximity to the entrance of Cairns Harbor makes it a popular place for visiting yachts anchoring nearby. Half Moon Bay Yacht Club

This yacht club located at Yorkeys Knob. The clubhouse is the biggest of all three in Cairns, and it has a very popular restaurant that is open every day of the week. There is also a large marina at this club, but no haul-out facilities are available. It is about 15 minutes by car to Cairns from the club. You can visit the clubs web site at http://www.hmbyc.org/
